We had a fantastic time at the Pinewood Futures Festival last weekend!
The Futures Festival is an incredible event held at Pinewood Studios and is designed to inspire and guide the next generation of filmmakers. It brings together industry professionals, educators, and young people from schools and colleges across the UK, offering invaluable insights into the many career paths within the film and TV industry.
It was truly inspiring to meet so many passionate young people (and their teachers and parents) who are eager to explore careers in film. We also loved meeting the incredible characters in costume – such a fun and creative atmosphere that perfectly reflected the spirit of the industry!
A huge thank you to our trustees, Abbi Collins and Junior Agyeman, and our current trainee, Henry Piekarczyk, for joining us and generously sharing your experiences and advice during our talks. Hearing firsthand about the challenges and opportunities in the industry is exactly the kind of guidance that helps young people need who are taking their first steps towards a career in film and TV.
We’re also incredibly grateful to the team at Sony for hosting us. Your support helps us continue our mission of helping young people get a foot in the door of the industry.
At the Mark Milsome Foundation, we’re committed to helping young people access training, mentorship, and real-world experience in film and TV. Events like the Pinewood Futures Festival remind us why this work matters.
